What if the parties to be tested live in different cities?
If the parties to be tested live in different cities, we can split the kit for you and send the kit components to different addresses. Since they are individually barcode labelled, the samples will still be tested together once they arrive at the laboratory. To order a split kit, simply enter the following information in the comments box of the order form when you check out:
“Please split this kit. Send the alleged mother’s portion of the kit to (Alleged mother’s name and shipping address), and send the child’s portion of the kit to (Child’s name and shipping address).”
An extra shipping fee of $10 will be automatically applied for each additional address within the US. Split kits will be shipped out using USPS First Class Package Service.
Who needs to be tested?
The DNA Maternity test is performed by testing the alleged mother and the child.
What if the alleged mother is not available for testing?
If the alleged mother is not available for testing, testing another relative can be considered. Other test types include the DNA Grandparent test, DNA sibling test, or DNA Aunt/Uncle test. Please note that the DNA Parentage test is always the most powerful test, so if the alleged mother is available for testing, the DNA Maternity test should be considered over the other test types.

What if I need to use the results in court?
The private DNA maternity test is for personal knowledge only. It is intended for families to find out the truth before deciding on the next step. What is the difference between a private test and a legal test
The private maternity test and legal maternity tests are equally accurate. The only difference is the method of sample collection. Private maternity tests are intended for individuals who wish to find out the truth discreetly before deciding on the next step. Legal maternity tests are for individuals who need a legal document for use in court. Whereas samples for private maternity tests are collected discreetly in private, the samples for legal maternity tests must be collected using strict chain-of-custody procedures, which includes attending an appointment for sample collected by an unbiased third party. During the legal sample collection appointment, a passport photograph along with 2 pieces of government issued ID must be presented. The individuals must also be fingerprinted. The entire collection process takes place in front of a witness. The results of our legal tests are legal documents which can be used in court.
Does the DNA kit have an expiration date? Do I need to use it right away?
The DNA test kits have no expiration date so you can use them at any time.
