The AlorAir PureAiro HEPA Max 970 is the high-airflow Max for large containments: AlorAir rates it 270–750 CFM at 2.8 A, with UV-C, in the same 25 × 21.7 × 14.2 in Max shell as the 770/870. IICRC water and mold contractors step to the 970 when a single 550 CFM machine cannot hit the air-change target, or when ducted negative air on a bigger footprint needs the extra CFM. Facility managers use it on open demolition floors AlorAir sizes at up to 7,500 cubic feet of coverage. Versus the Max 870 you gain 200 CFM on the top end and draw 0.3 A more (2.8 A vs 2.5 A); weight is 39.6 lb vs 37.4 lb. Intake is 14 in, outlet 8 in, 15A UL-rated GFCI duplex, 2.8 in. 2.8 A at 115 V/60 Hz versus 2.5 A on the Max 870 / Pro 870 / Max 770. Plan circuit loading if you also run LGR dehumidifiers and air movers.
Filter stages and CFM?
AlorAir lists pre-filter + HEPA/activated carbon and built-in UV-C, variable 270–750 CFM. Intake 14 in, outlet 8 in. Confirm HEPA efficiency percent on the current 970 spec sheet before writing it into a scope.
Is 750 CFM the same as 7,500 sq ft?
No. AlorAir’s coverage line is 7,500 cubic feet, not square feet. ACH depends on room volume: CFM × 60 ÷ cubic feet. A 7,500 ft³ space at 750 CFM is 6 air changes per hour only if the machine is actually delivering 750 CFM after filters and duct.
Max 970 vs Max 870 vs PuriSystems S2?
