The LabTech Mold OK 6-pack is a tape-lift style collection kit for restoration PMs, adjusters, and facility managers who need a laboratory look at a stain — not a 15-second RLU number. You lift material with the supplied strips, case the sample, and mail it to MoldLab, Ltd. The current Germaphobix listing states AIHA-accredited lab results in 3–5 business days, express available, and $25 per sample lab fee (prepaid envelope in the kit). Included: 7 sampling strips, 3 sample envelopes, protective cases, English/Spanish instructions. That mix is for multiple locations, not six fully independent lab submissions unless the lab paperwork says otherwise — read the form. This kit does not replace a Germ Detective ATP meter for on-site cleanliness checks, and it is not a clearance protocol by itself. Is lab analysis included in the $78.99 kit price?
The kit is the collection materials. Germaphobix lists a $25 per sample lab fee paid with the form. Confirm current MoldLab pricing on the slip in the box.
How is this different from the ATP meter?
ATP = on-site organic residue in RLU, no species. Mold OK = physical sample to a lab. Many jobs use both: ATP during cleaning, tape-lift if a stain or clearance scope needs identification. See the comparison guide.
How many rooms can one 6-pack cover?
The box lists 7 strips and 3 envelopes. Follow the kit instructions for how many strips constitute one paid sample. Do not assume “6 pack = 6 lab reports.”
Can I use this as IICRC post-remediation verification by itself?
No. S520-style verification is visual, moisture, and a sampling plan designed for the project. A consumer tape-lift kit can support a conversation with the lab; it is not automatically a PRV (post-remediation verification) package.
